At the start of the new Euroleague season there was a direct meeting between the two German teams. Bayern were able to prevail in the duel between the two BBL clubs against Alba Berlin with 80:68. After the defeat at the beginning, the Albatrosses wanted to get their first win on Thursday against Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz from Spain.

But Alba came on really strong in the last quarter. Led by a great Gabriele Procida (twelve points in the end), the Berlin team got there point by point. After good defense, the hosts even had a chance to equalize, but Matt Thomas missed. In the end, the scoreboard read 91:86 for the Spaniards and the second defeat in a row for the Germans.
The best basket hunters of the game were Alba’s Tim Schneider and Codi Miller-McIntyre from the Spaniards with 17 points each. The Berliners continue on Sunday with the cup round of 16 against Braunschweig, before the next game in the Euroleague next Wednesday at Virtus Bologna.
