Three outpost personnel injured in gun battle with suspected herdsmen

Three personnel of the Amotekun Corps in Osun were injured after engaging in a gun duel with herdsmen in the state.

DAILY POST gathered that some farmers in Kajola village in Atakumosa-West Local Government Area of ​​the state have reported the activities of herdsmen destroying their farm produce to feed their herds of cattle.

According to an eyewitness in the village, Adio Ioane, the herdsmen were agitated and ready to fight when they saw the operatives of Amotekun.

According to him, the attempt of the operatives of the corps to arrest the herdsmen led to a gun duel, which resulted in injuries to both parties.

Meanwhile, the Commander of the Corps, Osun Amotekun, Bashir Adewinbi, confirmed that three of his operatives were injured in a gunfight with the herdsmen.

“Our men went to Kajola village to settle the rift between farmers and herdsmen, but when they got there, the herdsmen attacked and shot, our men had no choice but to shoot at them.

“The police was involved in this case. We arrested one of them, but later released him. The wounded are better now,” he added.
