- Specialized Team Drivers
Specialized Team Drivers earn an average annual salary of $100,000.
DOD Team Drivers and Armored Trucks are some of the highest paid in the industry due to the sensitivity of the loads that they carry. To become one of these drivers, you are going to have to go through a pretty expensive background to obtain this safety, clearances while you as a team will split the revenue, many of you will make well over $100,000 dollars annually a year as a truck driver
- Heavy Haul Drivers (over dimensional)
Heavy Hal drivers earn average annual salary of over $100,000 and more.
(OD) Over Dimensional is overweight, over height, over width. The more axles you are pulling, the heavier the loads, the wider the loads, increased revenue. These types of drivers require a special skill set; one to keep the load safe, the public safe and also your tractor trailer safe. If you are up for this challenge as a truck driver, you can expect to earn upwards of $100k+ and six figures annually.
- Hazmat Haulers (hazardous materials)
Hazmat Haulers earn an average annual salary of $60,000 – $70,000 annually.
Hauling hazardous material can be a very dangerous job often the materials are flammable and corrosive. It is your responsibility for hauling these types of loads but also loading and unloading those loads. Hazmat Haulers require specific skills; you must get a certification to be attached to your CDL to be qualified to pull a hazmat load. These types of drivers can expect to earn between a 60k – 70k dollars annually.
- Refrigerated Goods Drivers
Refrigerated Goods Drivers earn an average annual salary of $80,000.
Refrigerated goods are always in high demand and because of that fact; you will earn a very healthy salary. Both customer services and on-time deliveries are critical for this market. Your trailer will have to be washed after every load to maintain safety and health standards. If you take a step to become a reefer driver, you can expect to earn up to $80k annually.
- Private Carrier Drivers
Private Carrier Drivers earn an average annual salary of $75,000 – $80,000.
Drivers will be dedicated to run a route for that private company. Private carriers don’t have the overhead cost as some trucking companies do, that way you can expect to make more money. You can expect upwards between $75k – $80k a year.
- Car Haulers
Car Haulers earn an average annual salary of $117,500.
The level of expertise to haul cars makes it a high paying trucking job in 2022. You have to be patient and oriented to make sure that your load is secure. At most companies, you must have two years verifiable over the road experience and a spotless safety records. You can expect to make $70k annually but many drivers are well into the six figures.
- Ice Road Truckers
Ice Road Truckers earn an average salary of $30,000 – $40,000 monthly and that’s what makes them the highest paid drivers.
Due to the nature of the job, Ice road truckers make their annual salary in only a couple of months. The job is not only dangerous but comes with a list of restrictions and many companies prefer you to be a Canadian citizen. Only small fractions that do pursue this career in ice road trucking are able to secure a position.
- Private Fleets
Private Fleet Drivers earn an average annual salary of $70,000 – $85,000.

CR England is actually one of the top rated training companies in the nation. There are driving schools for those without your CDL. And they have campuses throughout the country. Drivers that commit to a full year of CR England will have no upfront costs, and their tuition will be completely paid for at the end of the year.
- Roehl Transport
Roehl has options whether you are fresh out of trucking school, or if you are ready to get your CDL. They are a top rated safety company and they offer higher paying rates for their drivers. They offer a tuition reimbursement program if you have already obtained your CDL plus they have paid on the job training.
Schneider does offer paid CDL training, they have options whether you are looking to get your CDL or you have just obtained your CDL and you are looking to gain experience, and recent graduates may also qualify for tuition reimbursement.
