The Chancellor discussed women’s football and the German bid for the 2027 Women’s World Cup with, among others, DFB President Bernd Neuendorf, General Secretary Heike Ullrich, Managing Director Andreas Rettig, the national team sporting director, Joti Chatzialexiou, and interim national coach Horst Hrubesch .
“I am thrilled by the development of women’s football in Germany and how many young girls in particular are interested in football through the women’s national team,” said the Chancellor in a statement published on the DFB website.
